deutsch With its current event MOBILBOX the WERKSTADT GRAZ offers a programme of substantial contents which - also in terms of space - is an extension of the African art project TERANGA RESTAURANT which was started in 2000. The WERKSTADT GRAZ, which has won the Art Award 2001 of the Province of Styria, continues its "committed and profiled programme" to conduct further "expeditions" in various spaces specially designed for the use of different media. As far as the current project MOBILBOX is concerned, this means that there will be an architectural extension into public space and into dimensions of thought to cover the following issues: asylum politics, human rights, fundamental needs and many others. Via the GALLERY VENUES IN GRAZ and the ramifications of international communication paths the "mobile restaurant" also extends to the dimension of telematics. Leading towards more than just a geographical and personal approach the MOBILBOX, which may be used in the above way, is a MEMORY BOX of an operative kind to face the world with either resistance or insistence.
